4-H Youth & Family Development Programs

This list of funds support a wide range of 4-H and youth development programs. They vary from 4-H camp scholarships to Energy Express to International Youth Exchange program. 2S409 William M. “Bill” Frye, III 4-H Scholarship

Provides funds for a scholarship to be given annually to a West Virginia student enrolled full-time at WVU who has been or is currently enrolled in a 4-H program.

2U114 4-H Alumni Association
Provides funds for transactions for the 4-H Alumni Association. 

2U171 4-H Health Initiative
Provides funds for all expenses related to the operation of the 4-H Health initiative.

2V306 John S. Pedgonay 4-H Activities
Provides funds to support 4-H activities in the Extension Program. 

2V438 CHISPA Immersion Programs Fund
Provides funds to cover operating expenses to help WV high school students learn about the diversity of cultures of the Spanish-speaking world. 

2V529 4-H Camping Program Fund
Provides funds for camping programs, including scholarships. 

2V530 4-H Annual Fund
Provides funds for transactions not allocated to other operating accounts. 

2V531 International 4-H Youth Exchange
Provides funds for transactions related to international programming. 

2V532 4-H National Events Fund
Provides funds for transactions for national programs and events. 

2V533 4-H State Camps Fund
Provides funds for transactions related to state camps. 

2V534 4-H Volunteer Leadership Fund
Provides funds for transactions related to the volunteer leadership program, including scholarships. 

2V694 Jackson’s Mill Young Adult Conference
Provides funds for conference revenue and expenses. 

2V695 Jackson’s Mill Volunteer Leaders Weekend
Provides funds for conference and revenue expenses. 

2V697 Older 4-H Members Conference
Provides funds for conference and revenue expenses. 

2V698 Jackson’s Mill Dance Weekend
Provides funds for conference and revenue expenses. 

2V699 4-H University Fund
Provides funds for conference revenue and expenses. 

2V702 Jackson’s Mill Alpha I & II
Provides funds for conference revenue and expenses. 

2V744 Hostler Fund for Youth Development
Provides funds for the purpose of youth development. 

2V745 Kauffman Center Mini Society
Provides funds for the purpose of conducting the mini-society training and classroom implementation transactions associated with this program.

2V809 Energy Express Fund for Ohio County
Provides funds for the Energy Express program in Ohio County. 

2V949 Energy Express Annual Fund
Provides funds to support expenses related to Energy Express. 

2W013 WV 4-H Hall of Fame
Provides funds for transactions related to or in support of the WV 4-H Hall of Fame. 

2W224 4-H Training & Development Fund
Provides funds to support 4-H activities and programs for volunteer development, leadership development and/or experimental education. 

2W373 Wired & Wonderful 4-H Camp Fund
Provides funds for the general operation of the Wired & Wonderful Technology Camp segment of Alpha I 4-H Camp. 

2W374 Mineral County 4-H Camp Minco
This fund is for the benefit of the Mineral County 4-H Camp, Camp Minco, and any and all renovation or building expenses on its campus, including but not limited to the bath houses.

2W376 Putnam County 4-H Scholarship
Provides funds for scholarships for Putnam County 4-H youth to attend county and state 4-H camps.

2W440 4-H Families Count
Provides funds for the 4-H Families Count: Families Strengthening Award Program.

2W455 Dr. Betty Crickard McCartney 4-H Health Initiative
Provides funds for training club health officers and other county support as needed, including but not limited to supplies, travel costs, and stipends for the 4-H Health Initiative program. 

2W476 4-H Health Rocks
Provides funds to support programs to help teens and preteens develop life skills in the area of critical thinking, decision-making, communication, stress management, and goal setting in an attempt to help them resist risky behaviors. 

2W495 Williams Family Foundation Upshur County Fund
Provides funds to pay for any expenses related to the Upshur County-based Reading Partners Program, First LEGO League program, and LEGO Education WeDo Construction program, including but not limited to computers, travel, stipends, robot kits, team registrations, entry fees and t-shirts. 

2W521 Joseph Stanley Waugh Tucker County 4-H Fund
Provides funds to support the Tucker County resident camping program via the Tucker Co. 4-H Leaders Association, including scholarships and operating expenses. 

2W526 Dunn Family Foundation 4-H20 Water Quality Fund
Provides funds to support the 4-H20 Water Quality program, including purchasing of kits, experiment development costs and all other related expenses. 

2W529 WV 4-H Finance Camp
Provides funds to support the 4-H Finance Camp, including but not limited to scholarships, travel reimbursement for volunteers and youth, and general expenses

2W544 4-H Camp Pioneer Fund
Provides funding for 4-H Camp Pioneer in Randolph County for renovations, building supplies, contractors and any and all payments needed for the camp.

2W546 Nicholas County 4-H Fund
Provides funds to support the Nicholas County 4-H program, including but not limited to camp scholarship, 4-H camp repairs, supply purchases and travel for volunteers and youths.

2W576 Share Our Strength Fund Funds provides mini-grants to WV county Energy Express programs for the cost of purchasing fresh fruits and vegetables to enhance the meals EE provides through the Summer Food Service Program

2W586 Mobile STEM Lab & Ambassador Program This fund supports the Dominion Foundation’s WVU Mobile STEM Ambassador Laboratory. The fund is used to purchase materials, pay stipends and pay for any expenses related to the WVU Mobile STEMAmbassador Laboratory. 

2W591 Mercer County Hobby Hut Renovation For renovations to the Hobby Hut at the Mercer County 4-H Camp in Princeton. The renovations include wiring, demonstration kitchen, new mattresses and other materials to make the building wired for high-tech robotics and STEMprograms. 

2W601 McDonough Energy Express Mini-Grant Program
This fund supports a mini-grant program for Energy Express. Funds are to be used to help meet local match requirements. 

2W611 Community Trust Foundation Mineral County Grant For the Mineral County LEGORobotics and Energy Express programs. The funding shall pay for all expenses related to the development of the two programs. 

3S200 Wood County 4-H Scholarship Fund
Provides funds for tuition and fee scholarship benefits at college levels, for first and second year college students of Wood County, WV, who are or have been affiliated with a 4-H program of Wood County. 

3S480 Betler-Maclin-Thorn OMC Scholarship Fund
Provides funds for scholarships for Older Members’ Conference.

3S481 Boggs-VanMeter Memorial Fund
Provides funds for partial scholarships for 4-H members to Alpha Camps and three full return scholarship to the State Conservation Camp. 

3S482 Booth All Star Memorial Fund
Provides funds for scholarships for West Virginia 4-H members and lay leaders to participate in State, National and International 4-H activities. 

3S483 Booth Endowment Fund
Provides funds for scholarships for 4-H members and lay leaders to attend State, National, and International 4-H activities.

3S484 Harley Cutlip Scholarship Fund
Provides funds for full return scholarships for sagamores for Older 4-H Members’ Conference and each Alpha Camp, and the remainder to partial scholarships for each Alpha Camp. 

3S485 C. H. Hartley Memorial Fund
Provides funds for full return scholarships for 4-H members to Older 4-H Members’ Conference and Alpha Camps, and partial scholarships to State Conservation Camps. 

3S486 Guy H. Stewart Charisma Scholarship
Provides funds for Alpha Camps Scholarships and OMC. 

3S487 Mildred Fizer Volunteer Leadership Fund
Provides funds to support the development of curriculum to train 4-H volunteer club leaders on program planning. 

3S488 Robert’s IFYE Fund
Provides funds to support West Virginia participants in the International 4-H Youth Exchange Program. 

3S490 B. B. Maurer Mountain Heritage Fund
Provides funds for scholarships and/or resource persons and for resource materials for 4-H people to participate in authentic cultural heritage education activities designed to develop understanding, appreciation, and pride in the wonderful cultural heritage of West Virginia. 

3S491 4-H Northeast Volunteer Leaders Forum
Provides funds for scholarships and for 4-H leaders to attend the Northeast Volunteer Leaders Forum. 

3S492 Winfred & Lucy Park Memorial Fund
Provides funds for scholarships for 4-H youth and adult leaders to attend state or national leadership training conferences. 

3S493 Teepi Kendrick Memorial Fund
Provides funds for partial scholarships for 4-H leaders to attend the State 4-H Volunteer Leaders’ Weekend. 

3S496 Robert & Gail Snyder Scholarship Fund
Provides funds for scholarships for OMC.

3S497 Headley OMC Scholarship Fund
Provides funds for state scholarship aid to Upshur County OMC campers for the WVUExtension Service 4-H Older Members Conference (OMC) camps. 

3S498 Hazel Lyon Jackson Endowment Fund
Provides funds for the leadership program to help and encourage volunteer leaders and to help provide escorts for 4-H members attending various events such as judging, demonstration teams, or the National 4-H Congress. 

3S499 J. O. Knapp Memorial Fund
Provides funds for scholarships for Alpha and/or any state-or national-level 4-H activity or event. 

3S557 Brad Davis Family Scholarship Fund
Provides funds for student scholarship aid in the WVU Extension Service 4-H Program for camps. 

3S559 4-H National Center Scholarship Fund
Provides funds for scholarships for 4-H members and volunteer 4-H leaders to attend 4-H events which are held at the National 4-H Center. 

3S617 Tom Maruca Scholarship Fund
Provides funds for scholarship aid to returning, outstanding music campers in support of the WV 4-H Camping Program. 

3S663 Dana L. and Peggy M. Farnsworth 4-H Scholarship
Provides funds for state scholarship aid for the WVU Extension Service 4-H Alpha camps. 

3S711 Mildred Fizer Scholarship for 4-H’ers
Provides funds to support the WVU Scholars Program to provide full-time entering freshman scholarship aid in any school or college at WVU. The recipients shall a) have been a WV 4-Her; b) be a WV resident; and c) have demonstrated high academic promise including a high school GPA of at least 2.5. 

3S720 Kent & Thelma Kessler Scholarship Fund
Provides funds for 4-H camping scholarships to youths of working class families who have at least one parent/guardian who is currently employed and whose family has financial need. Recipients must be residents of Lewis County, Nicholas County, or Webster County, and be attending his/her respective county 4-H Camp. 

3U052 4-H Appreciation Fund
“Endowment income shall used at the discretion of the 4-H Funds Advisory Committee and the Center Director.”

3U053 Gertrude Humphreys Memorial Fund
Endowment income is to be annually designated by the 4-H fund advisory committee. 

3U054 Prichard/Williams Memorial Fund
Endowment income shall be designated by the West Virginia 4-H Funds Advisory Committee. 

3U055 Adele Harpold Walsh Endowment Fund
Endowment income is to be used for the benefit of the WV 4-H. 

3U066 Mike Fewells 4-H Endowment
Provides funds to support the programming efforts of OMC and Alpha State 4-H Camps. 

3U086 Ritchie County 4-H Developmental Council Inc.
Provides funds for all 4-H activities in Ritchie County. 

3V319 4-H All Star Life Membership Fund
Provides funds for the benefit of the 4-H All Stars Program. 

3V321 Ralph E. Hayes Memorial Fund
Provides funds to support: a) Older 4-H Members’ Conference -Public Relations; b) Older 4-H Members’ Conference – keynote & daily speakers; c) Older 4-H Members’ Conference – chorus/drama productions; d) citizenship- promote citizenship in the public speaking contest and then provide additional scholarships for the four runner – ups in the state contest.

3V322 WV Association of Ext. 4-H Agents Fund
Provides financial support for professional development opportunities for members of the WV Association of Extension 4-H Agents. 

3V325 Rexrode Fund
Provides funds to support: a) Multicultural programs for young people, b) science and technology programs for young people, and c) training for volunteer adult leaders for multicultural or science and technology activities.

3V341 Polly Johnson Hanst 4-H Older Youth Scholarship
Provides funds to recognize an Older 4-H Youth Camper(s) who would be a good role model for new campers, and to provide a scholarship to that individual to return to camp the following year. 

3V409 Herman M. Bowers Endowment for Teen Leadership
Provides funds to support the West Virginia 4-H Teen Leaders Program through the purchase of resource materials for youth leadership development and/or other youth leadership development resources (such as trainers, etc.) 

3V410 Nesius Fund for Self-Discovery by Youth
Provides funds to support the WV 4-H Charting Program, primarily for use in supporting the training of Charting instructors, for resource materials for and training of instructors, resource materials for youth for experimental learning, and appropriate classroom/life learning support. 

3V413 Sylvia B. Straight Endowment Fund
Provides funds for educational purposes.

3V502 Ora Dee LeFlore Family Endowment
Provides funds to support the programming efforts at the WVU Extension Service’s Center for 4-H and Youth, Family and Adult Development for the purpose of family and community enrichment.

3V509 Ohio County 4-H Fund
Provides funds to support and advance the work of the Ohio County 4-H Foundation, Inc. 

3V545 Mercer County 4-H Leaders Association Endowment
Provides funds to support and advance the work of the Mercer County 4-H Leaders Association. 

3V547 Hughes Family 4-H Endowment
Provides funds for scholarships for Harrison County 4-H youth to attend state, county or weekend 4-H camps.

3V578 Cavendish Family Older Members’ Conference
Provides funds for scholarships and to support the programming efforts of Older Members’ Conference (OMC) such as conference speakers’ fees and expenses. 

3V582 Dennis L. Barron 4-H Fund
Provides funds to support WVU Jackson’s Mill: The West Virginia Center for Lifelong Learning and State 4-H Camp and/or any 4-H program. 

3V604 Centennial Endowment for 4-H Project Publications
Provides funds to support the printing and publication costs of 4-H project materials and curriculum publications. 

3V693 Bob Haas 4-H Endowment
Provides funds for scholarships for youth to attend Older Members’ Conference (OMC) and Alpha State 4-H Camps. 

3V708 Mark Dillon Endowment Fund
Provides funds for educational, camping, & leadership development opportunities for low income and high risk youth in southern West Virginia. 

3V721 4-H Clubs of Webster Co. Camp Caesar Endowment
Provides funds to support and advance the work of Camp Caesar. 

3V722 Susan Pietrantozzi Endowment Fund
Provides funds for Alpha I, and Alpha II camping programs at Jackson’s Mill to be used for scholarships, speakers and expenses including: speakers, materials, travel, and honorariums. 

3V761 Emma Virginia Cackley Hartley 4-H Scholarship
Provides scholarships for one boy and one girl to attend Alpha I 4-H Camp each year and one boy and one girl to attend Alpha II 4-H Camp each year. Also, provides six scholarships for youth to attend Pocahontas County 4-H Camp each year.

3V773 Pendleton County 4-H Scholarship Fund
Provides funds to support camping scholarships for Pendleton County youth to attend Pendleton County, OMC, or Alpha I and II State 4-H Camps. 

3V780 Alpha I Campers Fund
Provides funds to support full camping scholarships for a minimum of one 4-H youth from Hardy County and one 4-H youth from Kanawha County to attend Alpha I State 4-H Camp. 

3V783 Jeffrey Orndorff State 4-H Camps Fund
Provides funds for all operating expenses pertaining to state camps.

3V798 Howard & Alice Foglesong 4-H State Camp Scholarship
Provides funds for scholarships for one youth from Upshur County, one youth from Boone County, and one youth from Logan County in West Virginia to attend a State 4-H Camp of their choosing each year. 

3V802 Kenneth & Mary McDonald 4-H Camp Scholarship
Provides funds for scholarships for 4-H youth from Berkeley County to attend OMC, Alpha I or Alpha II state 4-H camp. 

3V816 Natalie P. & Maynard H. Smith 4-H Camp Scholarship
Provides funds for scholarships for youth from Hancock County to attend OMC, Alpha I or Alpha II State 4-H Camp each year. 

3V822 Gladys W. Knapp Marshall Co. 4-H Scholarship
Provides funds for scholarships for youth from Marshall County, West Virginia, to attend county 4-H camps. 

3V826 Keller Mineral County 4-H Endowment
Provides funds to support the Mineral County 4-H program. 

3V827 WV Cashin Recyclables Inc. Putnam County 4-H Endowment
Provides funds to support the Putnam County 4-H program. 

3V834 Harrison County 4-H Endowment
Provides funds to support and advance the work of the Harrison County 4-H Leaders Association. 

3V847 Randolph County 4-H Foundation
Provides funds for 4-H activities in Randolph County. 

3V861 Car Family 4-H Endowment
Provides funds to support Upshur County 4-H program, including but not limited to county, state and national camp scholarships, volunteer leader travel, purchase of supplies and general expenses. 

3V870 Larry D. & Margaret D. Brown/Lewis County 4-H Endowment 
Provides funds to support the 4-H program in Lewis County, including but not limited to county, state and national camp scholarships, volunteer leader travel, purchase of supplies and general expenses. 

3V873 Jefferson County 4-H Foundation Fund
Provides funds for 4-H activities in Jefferson County. 

3V874 Barbour County 4-H Leaders Association Endowment
Provides funds to support 4-H activities in Barbour Co., including but not limited to scholarships, travel reimbursement for volunteers and youth, and general expenses. 

3V875 WV 4-H Volunteer Leader & State Camp Scholarship Fund
Provides funds to support 4-H volunteer leader training and state camp scholarships for youth.

3V877 WV 4-H Charting Endowment
Provide funds to create a charting program fund, including but not limited to the development and production of charting materials, activities, and other charting expenses. 

3V881 Wood County 4-H Leaders Association Endowment
Provides funds for 4-H activities in Wood County, including but not limited to scholarships, travel, reimbursement for volunteers and youths, expenses for the county 4-H camp, general expenses, and all other needs as the Wood County 4-H Leaders Association deems appropriate.

3V896 Taylor County 4-H Leaders Association This endowment provides funding for 4-H activities in Taylor County, including but not limited to scholarships, travel reimbursement for volunteers and youth, expenses for the county 4-H camp, general expenses. 

3Z166 Paul & Francena Miller Presidential Scholarship
Provides funds for undergraduate scholarships for men and women who are regularly enrolled WVU students, have demonstrated financial need and are current 4-H members of a West Virginia 4-H club. First consideration shall be given to students who are from Hancock County. 

3Z205 John & Lucile Lough Scholarship Fund
Provides funds for undergraduate scholarships for regularly enrolled WVU students who have demonstrated financial need. First consideration shall be given to students who are from Harrison, Preston or Monongalia counties who are seeking a degree in agriculture and who are current members of a West Virginia 4-H club. 

3Z236 Helen T. Waters 4-H Scholarship
Provides funds for undergraduate scholarships for full-time students who have demonstrated financial need and are current 4-H members of a West Virginia 4-H club. 

3Z260 West Virginia Cashin Recyclables Inc. Putnam County Scholarship
Provides funds for undergraduate scholarships to Putnam County, West Virginia, residents who are students enrolled at West Virginia University. 

5V001 William Lewis & Marie L. Campbell 4-H Term Endowment
Provides funds to support the 4-H Health Initiative at West Virginia University to allow the program to better achieve its goal of “Increasing knowledge about health and motivate 4-H’ers and families to try new health habits and to improve others.”
