Award Nomination Process
Each program unit will submit separate nominations for each of the three areas of teaching, research and service. Nominations will be accepted from Extension employees for four awards.
Awards will be presented to recipients during the Extension’s Annual Meeting Accolades and Appreciation Luncheon at WVU Jackson’s Mill.

Award Nomination Timeline
Nominations open June 1 and are due July 30.
Projects developed and implemented by an individual or team of two or more individuals who provide educational opportunities to diverse or non-traditional audiences. Projects can also make people more aware of the importance of involving under-represented and non-traditional audiences in Extension programs. Potential items to include: needs assessment, linkages and collaborations within and outside extension, project and resource development process, program delivery strategies, outcomes/impact of the project, and how this project make people more aware of the importance of involving diverse and/or non-traditional audiences.
Individual State-based Staff Performance
Honoring Extension classified staff with more than three years of employment with the WVU Extension Service who have contributed in significant ways to enhancing the work and image of the organization. Nominations need to describe an individual’s specific contributions, results, and significance to the organization and its clientele.
Individual County-based Staff Performance
Honoring Extension county-paid staff with more than three years of employment with the WVU Extension Service who have contributed to improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the overall county programming efforts. Nominations need to describe an individual’s specific contributions, results, and significance to the organization and its clientele.
WVU Extension Innovation
Recognizing individual or individuals who have initiated creative and innovative ways to enhance the overall learning process. These program efforts demonstrate high impact programming, visionary leadership, forward thinking, commitment to diversity, valuable partnerships and integration through teaching research and service both within the organization and through outside clientele. Nominations should describe the individual or individuals ability to lead high impact program efforts, think creatively and garner resources.
