The WVU Extension Service Office of Development welcomes Development Officer Heather Short.
As the most recent addition, Short will be responsible for assisting with and taking on fundraising, stewardship, scholarship and special event duties.
In her new role, Short is most looking forward to the learning curve that comes with the vast Extension landscape.
“Growing up, I wasn’t involved with 4-H, and I’m really looking forward to learning about such a great organization,” said Short. “West Virginia 4-H and other WVU Extension departments offer so many great programs, and I’m so excited to get to be a part of it all.”
A native West Virginian, Short is a graduate of Richwood High School and originates from Craigsville, West Virginia, where she lived all her life until she migrated to Morgantown to pursue a bachelors degree in child development and family studies. As a WVU student, Short worked at the WVU Foundation Mountaineer Line, where she gained years of fundraising knowledge. Through her studies, Short worked closely with youths, families and members of the community—a priming experience that lead to her natural fit here at Extension.
Short can be reached by email at firstname.lastname@example.org or by phone at 304-293-5691.
