What process do I follow if I suspect my computer has been infected with a virus?

  1. If possible, sign out of your account and log into another administrative account on your computer using the Windows Start button. (e.g., AdminBU).
  2. Once you see the Desktop screen, make sure Sophos Endpoint Protection has the latest definitions.  You can do this by clicking on "About" in the bottom right hand corner of the main Sophos window and then clicking on "Update Now."
  3. Then, run a scan in Sophos Endpoint Protection.
  4. Handle any issues that the software discovers.
